Balrampur, April 29 — A strong hailstorm and heavy rain that struck Balrampur district on Sunday evening have led to a significant 6°C drop in temperature, providing much-needed relief from the scorching summer heat. Residents woke up to a more comfortable Tuesday, with reduced solar intensity and cooler conditions prevailing.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of continued rainfall throughout the day. Overcast skies are expected during the day, with showers likely by evening.
Forecast: Cloudy Skies and More Rain Likely TodayThe IMD has predicted a maximum daytime temperature of 34°C and a minimum nighttime temperature of 21°C in Balrampur. The fall in temperature has eased discomfort caused by the previous spell of intense heat.
Meteorologists at the Raipur Weather Centre reported the presence of a north-south trough extending from the northern part of Marathwada to the Gulf of Mannar, passing through interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu at an altitude of 0.9 km above mean sea level. This weather pattern is currently influencing atmospheric conditions across several districts in Chhattisgarh, including Balrampur.
Widespread Impact Across ChhattisgarhThis trough system is contributing to unseasonal rain and storm activity across the state. Other regions in Chhattisgarh may also experience similar weather over the coming days, as the system persists.
The IMD has advised residents to remain cautious of evening thunderstorms and possible hail, while urging farmers and outdoor workers to plan activities accordingly.
