At least six people were injured after multiple vehicles crashed in central Gatlinburg on Sunday, as reported by local news outlets.
According to ABC affiliate WATE, the incident occurred at approximately 4.4 pm along the 700 block of Parkway, situated between traffic lights 6 and 8, with five vehicles involved in the collision, Wlos reported.
Several footages were shared on online space, showing the aftermath of the multi-vehicle accident. Several vehicles were seen damaged, with air bags opened.
WATE reported that Gatlinburg Police Department confirmed three individuals were airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center whilst three others were transported via ambulance.
Visual evidence from the incident site revealed a blocked thoroughfare with numerous damaged vehicles, with some having mounted the pavement.
WATE reports that both Gatlinburg police and the Tennessee Highway Patrol are conducting investigations into the incident.
