Ukraine’s security service (SBU) on Wednesday announced the arrest of two Chinese nationals in Kyiv for allegedly attempting to smuggle classified military technology out of the country.
In an official statement, the SBU said the individuals were caught trying to illegally export secret documentation related to the RK-360MC Neptune missile system, Ukraine’s domestically developed cruise missile credited with the sinking of Russia’s Moskva warship in 2022.
The SBU did not disclose further details about the suspects or how the operation was uncovered, but said the attempted transfer posed a serious threat to Ukraine’s national security.
The incident comes at a time of heightened vigilance in Kyiv as the war with Russia continues and foreign intelligence activities remain under scrutiny.
