Videos shared by Fox35 and other social media platforms show people running through downtown streets, while emergency vehicles and police cars flooded the scene. The Orlando Police Department confirmed the shooting in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) at 2:17 am, indicating that officers are actively investigating the situation.
“The Orlando Police Department is conducting a shooting investigation in Downtown Orlando. We are still gathering information and interviewing witnesses,” the statement read.
The Orlando Fire Department is also coordinating with police on the scene, which remains heavily monitored as authorities work to secure the area.
As of now, no further details on the number of victims or potential suspects have been released. The investigation is ongoing.
