Indian-American Republican leader Vivek Ramaswamy was targeted with racist remarks online after sharing a Halloween photo with his two sons on X on Saturday.
Ramaswamy posted the family picture with a lighthearted caption about trick-or-treating. Still, the post quickly drew a wave of xenophobic responses from some conservative users who mocked their Indian heritage and even called for the family’s deportation.
One of the users on X said, "It's Reformation Day. Repent and declare Christ Jesus your Lord and Savior."
Another user said, "I see this year Vivek went as an H1B immigrant here to steal your jobs. Very scary. Like the brown version of the Grinch."
Several users asked Ramaswamy why the children are not studying in the comment section.
A user also said, "get those boys some practice math problems to do! chop chop!" Another said, "Politely Go back Your making my white country unrecognizable There are also MILLIONS of Indians suffering back at your home That need you BADLY to fix their land and save them."
A user also said, "Devil Worship. You just sacrificed your children to Satan."
Many others, however, came to his defense, condemning the racist comments and praising Ramaswamy for celebrating an American tradition with his children.
