Canadian passenger detained after bomb threat on Varanasi-Bengaluru IndiGo flight
A Canadian national triggered chaos at Varanasi airport on Saturday night by claiming possession of a bomb whilst aboard an IndiGo aircraft scheduled for Bengaluru. The foreign passenger was subsequently detained and is currently undergoing interrogation regarding the incident.
A detailed probe has been ordered. After the bomb scare, the aircraft was shifted to the isolation bay for a detailed inspection, but no explosives were discovered, said airport director Puneet Gupta. Read full story
