The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ( RSS ) will address key issues such as the impact of social media on children and internet regulation in its upcoming national executive meeting, starting October 25. The event will also focus on the organisation's plans for expansion ahead of its centenary year in 2025, Sunil Ambekar , all-India Prachar Pramukh announced on Wednesday.
The meeting, which includes 393 members and will take place at the Deendayal Upadhyay Cow Science, Research, and Training Centre in Parkham village, will cover topics highlighted by Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat during his Vijaya Dashami address. These include societal unity and the avoidance of confusion.
Ambekar said, “During his Vijaya Dashami address, the RSS chief had also raised concerns about how children are being misled on different platforms of the internet, especially on social media. He had warned about the negative consequences of such content and stressed the need for government regulation. This will be discussed.”
Other key topics include fostering peace, harmony, and social cohesion. Expansion of the RSS at the grassroots level will also be reviewed, with goals to be achieved by Vijaya Dashami 2025. Ambekar mentioned that historical figures mentioned in Bhagwat's speech would be honored, and their teachings shared through various programs.
The meeting will also review relief efforts by the RSS in crisis-hit areas like Gujarat, Odisha, and West Bengal, with plans to establish permanent projects in these regions. Discussions will also cover preparations for the RSS centenary next year.
This meeting is noted to be an important event during the period of Diwali, emphasizing social harmony, family awareness, environmental protection, citizen duties, and living by one's values.
