Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Thursday spoke about the need for respecting constitutional posts like those of the President and the governor, calling them the highest positions under the Indian Constitution .
Speaking at the launch of a book on UP governor Anandiben Patel in Lucknow, Dhankhar noted that constitutional roles uphold and safeguard the Constitution, and commenting on "such dignified offices warrant serious reflection".
The remarks came days after Dhankhar's critical observations on a SC ruling setting a timeframe for governors, and even the President, to clear the bills sent for their approval. The VP had alleged that the judiciary was acting as a "Super Parliament".
