Indigo and Akasa flights receive security alerts, airlines issue statements

Another Indigo flight , operating from Hyderabad to Chandigarh , received a security alert , the airline confirmed on Saturday.

Indigo Airlines said that it followed standard operating procedures, and passengers were safely evacuated after the aircraft landed.

"Upon landing, the aircraft was isolated, and all passengers were safely disembarked. Ensuring the safety and security of our passengers and crew is paramount in all aspects of our operations. We worked closely with the relevant authorities, and standard procedures were followed," Indigo said in a press statement.


"We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused to our customers and appreciate their understanding," the airline added.

Earlier today, three other Indigo flights and three Air India group flights also received bomb threats . Indigo issued several statements acknowledging security-related situations involving flights 6E 11 (Delhi to Istanbul), 6E 17 (Mumbai to Istanbul), and 6E 184 (Jodhpur to Delhi).

Vistara 's Delhi-London flight, Air India's Newark-Mumbai flight, AI Express Dubai-Jaipur flight, and Vistara's Udaipur-Mumbai flight reportedly also received security threat messages.

Meanwhile, Akasa Air announced that several of its flights received security alerts on Saturday. According to an Akasa Air spokesperson, the airline's emergency response teams are monitoring the situation and are in contact with security and regulatory authorities.

"Some of our flights operating on October 19, 2024, have received security alerts. The Akasa Air Emergency Response teams are monitoring the situation and are in touch with security and regulatory authorities," the spokesperson said.


The airline assured that it is ready to assist passengers, prioritising their safety. "We are following all safety and security protocols in coordination with local authorities, and our teams on the ground are prepared to ensure passengers' safety and comfort," the spokesperson added.
