Connor McDavid has been missing from a couple of games for the Edmonton Oilers as he sustained an injury while playing against the Winnipeg Jets. But it was not just Connor McDavid who was missing; the other star player of the Edmonton Oilers’ Leon Draisaitl also ended up missing four matches due to an injury. While Leon Draisaitl is back now, recently, the head coach of the team, Kris Knoblauch , spoke about the team’s situation when the two star players were missing from the ice.

Edmonton Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch discusses how the team performed without the presence of Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid

Edmonton Oilers’ head coach, Kris Knoblauch, said, “Whoever we play in the playoffs, whatever round it is, it's going to be a tight checking game…and we're going to get our chances we need to defend because it's going to be hard to score.”

He added, “You know, as for our team, I think guys stepped up without the few games that we played without Leon and Connor. Obviously, we got Leon back which is a huge boost to our team..."

With Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid missing, the Edmonton Oilers played three matches but the team did not manage to win all three.

At the match against the Dallas Stars and the Seattle Kraken, the Edmonton Oilers faced devastating losses. However, the team did win a match against the Seattle Kraken on 22nd March, two days after Connor McDavid was injured at the match against the Jets on 20th March.

But things have changed since Leon Draisaitl returned to the team. In his first match after the injury, Leon Draisaitl made history by scoring his 50th goal this season and also managed to win the match against the Calgary Flames.

The Edmonton Oilers are now on a winning streak as they also managed to win against the Vegas Golden Knights recently.

While Connor McDavid was seen practicing in Vegas recently in a no contact jersey, there is still no confirmation as to when he will be finally able to return to the team.

There have been no exact date that has been confirmed either by the team or by Connor McDavid but there are speculations that he will be back before the end of the regular season.
