Anant Samagam, a two-day cultural festival, is set to showcase the vibrant cultures of Northeast India and Kerala in an extraordinary display of unity through diversity on 26-27 October 2024.
This unique event will be held at the historic Travancore Palace, New Delhi, blending the rich heritage of both regions through music, dance, fashion, art, and cuisine. The festival will feature five rock concerts, a culinary fusion with food stalls and special events, handloom and handicraft exhibitions, and panel discussions featuring experts in textiles, women's empowerment, tourism, cinema, and investment. There will also be fashion shows for invited guests on both days, featuring well-known designers and labels from both regions, namely Sonam Dubal, Aratrik Dev Varman, Sreejith Jeevan, Tara Bhuyan, Jahnabi Phookan, Shalini James, Daniel Syiem, and Bambi Kevichusa.

Rennie Joyy, the visionary behind Anant Samagam, and Founder & Managing Director of Aalekh Foundation, stated, “The objective of "Anant Samagam" is to create a platform where the cultural streams of our nation can converge, allowing the youth and future generations to connect with and appreciate the rich tapestry of India’s heritage. The event also highlights the significance of cultural preservation in the context of national unity and development. By bringing together vibrant communities, we aim to cultivate mutual respect, understanding, and a deep appreciation for the myriad treasures that define our nation.”

"Despite being geographically distant, Kerala and Northeast India share common values in food, traditions, and heritage. Our goal is to make the youth more aware of this rich cultural connection," Rennie added.

Curated by Aalekh Foundation in association with Amazing Namaste Foundation, the festival has garnered significant support from both the government and private sectors, with equal enthusiasm. The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) and the Handloom Department of the Ministry of Textiles have extended their support for the festival, recognising the potential of this event to promote our traditional weavers and artisans.

Over 6,000 attendees are expected across the two days to have the pleasure of beholding the festivities of Anant Samagam at Travancore Palace, the perfect venue for this cultural fusion, embodying the essence of Kerala and Northeast India.
