Cameron Diaz, who was undoubtedly one of the biggest Hollywood starsdecade back stepped away from the limelight in 2014, albeit abruptly. Now 10 years later, the actress is set to make a comeback with several projects in the pipeline. Diaz's last starring role was the 2014 film Annie. According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, Diaz, during a recent event revealed that she stopped acting because she felt it was the right thing to do for her at that point in time. She was quoted as saying, it "was something I just had to do. It felt like the right thing for me to do to reclaim my own life and I just really didn’t care about anything else. Nobody’s opinion, nobody’s success, no one’s offer, no one’s anything could change my mind about my decision of taking care of myself and building the life that I really wanted to have.”
Diaz is now set to make a return to the world of cinema with Netflix’s Back in Action with Jamie Foxx, premiering on the streamer in January 2025. She is also reported to be returning for the upcoming Shrek 5 and is in talks to star opposite Keanu Reeves in dark comedy Outcome. People would be like, ‘It’s over’ and I’d be like, ‘No it’s not, it’s not over for me." However, the actress credited her husband for her returning to Hollywood. SHe said, "My husband, who is the best — he was like, ‘You’ve been supporting us and building the family’ and supporting him in his businesses, he’s like, ‘It’s time for us to support you and let Mommy ascend and do her thing.’ He’s like, ‘Let me see you do it girl.’ I was like, ‘Alright, here we go.'” In the past decade, Diaz has married Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden and welcomed two children, daughter Raddix and son Cardinal.
