Virginia Giuffre faced financial and personal turmoil weeks before her suicide

Tragic news has surfaced as Virginia Giuffre, a prominent accuser of Jeffrey Epstein's circle, was left "extremely distressed" upon discovering her multi-million-pound settlement from Prince Andrew was endangered. This revelation emerged just two weeks before she took her own life.

The mother of three feared the loss of her wealth after facing a lawsuit over a defamation claim by Rina Oh, another survivor who had suffered due to the royal's convicted paedophile associate, Epstein.

Giuffre, who sadly passed away on April 25 in Australia, had been accused by Oh of wrongfully describing her as both Epstein's girlfriend and a recruiter for his illicit activities. According to New York legislation, Oh's £7.5million legal suit will transfer to Giuffre's estate.

In the week prior to her suicide, sources familiar with Giuffre explained that she descended into depression due to multiple personal crises; her marriage was unraveling, she was being distanced from her children by her husband, and now her financial security was potentially evaporating. A source confided in the Mirror stating: "Virginia was extremely distressed in the weeks before she died. She felt like everything she had fought so hard for was going or gone. Couple this with the years of abuse she suffered at the hands of Epstein."

In addition to allegations involving Epstein, tweets attributed to Ms Giuffre have accused Ms Oh of physical assault. Ms Oh has firmly rejected these claims, asserting that she was also a victim of Epstein's exploitation and mistreatment, reports

Her legal representative stated in a court document: "Considering the high profile nature of the Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and Prince Andrew story, [Giuffre] knew that accusing [Oh], a fellow victim, of such horrible things, would maximise the spread and harm and damage to [Oh]."

The legal submission further noted: "[Giuffre] has maliciously reiterated and republished these defamations and slanders in prior and subsequent tweets and interviews on podcasts, TV and for magazines, as well as in her memoirs entitled Billionaire's Playboy Club. These defamations and slanders by Defendant are causing [Oh] great harm."

Ms Oh's legal action was poised to be leveraged by Prince Andrew's defence team against Ms Giuffre, who filed a lawsuit against the monarch's sibling in 2021 alleging sexual abuse. The litigation against Prince Andrew, who has consistently refuted the accusations, concluded with an out-of-court settlement reportedly amounting to £12m.

A mere three weeks before Ms Giuffre's untimely passing, the New York State Appellate Court dismissed her plea to throw out one of the two civil lawsuits brought by Ms Oh. Ms Giuffre was among the earliest accusers to charge Epstein and his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, with trafficking underage girls.
