Ahead of Charlie Kirk's Sunday funeral, federal law enforcement agencies are on high alert for potential threats, according to a recent report.
A law enforcement bulletin obtained by ABC News reveals that the agencies are "tracking several threats of unknown credibility.
"Violent extremists and unaffiliated lone offenders may view the memorial service or related events as attractive attack targets due to the attendance of these individuals, other senior U.S. government officials, state and local government officials, and political activists and due to major international media attention," the memo reportedly states.
Authorities have long been cautioning about the potential threat from lone wolf attackers, reportsThe Mirror US.
"The U.S. Secret Service has been designated as the Federal Coordinator for this effort. Our teams are already on the ground in Phoenix and Glendale, working side-by-side with state, local and federal partners," stated William Mack, the U.S. Secret Service's Special Agent in Charge of Phoenix.
"Together, we are fully committed to ensuring that these solemn events receive the comprehensive protection and support they require."
The Department of Homeland Security has also classified the funeral as a Special Event Assessment Rating Level 1, "reserved for events of the highest national significance."
Local police are bracing for a huge turnout and have warned attendees of "no overnight camping" in the car park outside State Farm Stadium where the funeral is due to take place.
High-profile figures such as President Donald Trump,Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are among those expected to attend the funeral.
The funeral's organisers have put their own security measures in place, including a no-bag policy, in addition to the standard presidential security.
"Please be advised that enhanced security measures are in place, which may result in longer wait times than usual," the organisers cautioned on a website set up ahead of the funeral. "We appreciate your patience and understanding."
The 31 year old conservative activist leaves behind his wife, Erika Kirk, and two young children. Erika is expected to speak at the funeral alongside Trump.
The funeral is set for 11 a. m. Sunday. Doors open at 8.
