Polling stations in various parts of the US have been disrupted by bomb threats with some being non-credible and originating from Russia.

Local media in Jacksonville, Florida is reporting that the Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad has been sent to the Beaver Street Enterprise Center in the northwest of the city.

This was after a "suspicious package" was found at the polling site.

Duval County Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland told News4JAX that voters are being brought outside and will "still be able to vote because the [site's] equipment is on battery power."

This comes as non-credible bomb threats came through in Georgia.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperge claimed "some threats that were of Russian origin."

The FBI also said in a statement: "The FBI is aware of bomb threats to polling locations in several states, many of which appear to originate from Russian email domains.

"None of the threats have been determined to be credible thus far."
