Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans has expressed his gratitude to fans for their support after recent controversy involving his dance partner, Katya Jones.
The 52-year-old opera singer faced criticism online after a clip of a moment between the pair went viral.
In the video he was seen placing his hand on Katya's waist, which she appeared to swat away.
This sparked outrage among many viewers, despite the duo clarifying that the incident was an "inside joke".
Taking to Instagram ahead of this weekend's live show, Wynne posted an emotional message to fans, saying: "Here we go it's nearly showtime. Thanks for all the wonderful messages I'm certainly feeling love. Don't forget to vote vote vote."
Fans flocked to the comments with messages of support, with one writing: "You've got family, friends and fans all looking out for you. Don't let it get you down. Some people always try it on but we all know you are lovely guy."
Another added: "Good luck Wynne, you are amazing and doing Wales proud. Ignore the haters and keep being awesome. Definitely voting for you."
Someone who knows Wynne personally recently revealed that he has been struggling with the backlash he has received since the incident.
Nick Knowles' fiancée, Katie Dadzie, told the Express: "When we saw Wynne he said it's been a really rough time.
"Having been on the receiving end of any negative attention when you get people messaging you, I know how horrible it is.
"People will just pounce on something they see on the telly and take it as fact and there is nothing they can do without people just speculating."
Katie also expressed sympathy for both Wynne and Katya, adding: "I felt very sorry for them both. Nick has always had great things to say about both of them.
"They do seem really happy working together. Wynne seems really funny and genuinely nice. Nick says there is no pretense with him and he's a genuinely nice guy."
