looked "uncomfortable" as she fiercely defended her partner .
During Saturday night's (October 12) show, the opera singer, 52, was spotted putting his arm around his professional partner's waist, which led Katya to pull his hand back to her side.
Appearing on It Takes Two on Monday, as she dismissed the incident as a "silly joke" between the pair. Despite feeling uneasy about the situation, Katya was determined to speak about the controversy and support the Welsh star.
Speaking on behalf of , body language expert Inbaal Honigman said: "When addressing the controversy, Katya uses her hands a lot when talking. She starts by using the 'stop' gesture, hand raised, palm facing outwards in front of her, in order to assert her wish to speak about the controversy.
"Then she speaks with her palms facing downwards, which signifies dominance. This means she's determined to get through the situation, however uncomfortable it may make her. When Katya has explained the situation, she grasps her hands together which shows how uneasy this is making her."
She continued: "Wynne is more nervous than Katya. As he listens to her, we can see his constant smile suddenly drop, and his throat contracts in a swallowing move. This shows how tense he is feeling.
"Wynne's hands are in front of him, which is a protective gesture, and his fingers are interlaced with his thumbs pressed together. This is a way to self-soothe when a person is stressed. He looks around him nervously.
"When it's Wynne's turn to talk, he raises his hands, palms facing up, which signifies honesty."
Speaking on BBC Radio Wales, where he presents a show, , insisting everything was completely misinterpreted.
He said: "I'm absolutely heartbroken by the things that have been written about me in the last day. It's not nice to live in that time, but basically Katya and I are really, really close and we're really good friends, and on Saturday night we made a stupid joke.
"It was a stupid joke that went wrong, okay? We thought it was funny. It wasn't funny. It has been totally misinterpreted. Everything's on Katya's socials. She's talked about it. She's explained that it was a joke. She wasn't offended in the least. She doesn't feel uncomfortable."
The singer added: "We've got a brilliant friendship, an absolutely tight friendship, and I'm sorry if anybody was offended by it, but it was a joke. And that's all there is. There is no real story, really. I feel weird apologising because I feel like I've not really done anything."You may also like
