Robin Hood, airing on MGM+, stars big names such as Sean Bean and Connie Nielsen, with newcomer Jack Patten taking the lead role.
The Australian actor shares the screen with Maid Marian actress Lauren McQueen, who both spoke exclusively to Reach titles about their first meeting.
Jack shared his initial thoughts of Lauren after their chemistry reading, stating: "I felt like saying 'That was incredible, I hope you get it', but you can't.
"Because who am I to say that? But I was gunning for Lauren the whole time. I was like yep, she's Marian 100%."
Lauren also revealed her first impressions of Jack and how she made the first move.
She explained: "We met at the chemistry reading in London so Jack had flown from Australia, I came from Liverpool.
"I think it was down to the last couple of Marians so you're sitting in the waiting room, it's nerve-wracking.
"I had seen Jack having a little break outside so I thought to myself 'I'm just going to go over and say hello'.
"Because in the next five minutes we are going to be in a room acting like we are in love and we just need to break the ice.
"I had been to Australia the year before so we kind of had that in common. But we just got on so well, it just came naturally really."
Jack showed immense dedication to the role, eager to perform as many of his own stunts as possible.
"It was incredible," he shared. "That was one of the things I was most excited about.
"I really wanted to do the bow and arrow stuff myself and do as many stunts myself as they would allow me to do.
"You fall over, you get back up, you don't lower the bow correctly, you just redo it. That's the good thing about it.
"But I really wanted it to be authentic, I didn't want it to look like it wasn't me."
During the three weeks leading up to filming, he dedicated up to eight hours daily perfecting his archery skills.
