Emergency services remain at the scene of the moor fire on the M62 as photos show the devastating aftermath of the blaze.
The fire started on Thursday afternoon near Oldham Road, Ripponden, just after midday. Footage showed smoke billowing over the major road as 18 fire crews were required to tackle the fire.
Emergency services remained there overnight, and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) confirmed seven units remain at the moor to fight the blaze on Friday morning (May 2).
A stretch of the M62 is also shut due to a crash on Friday afternoon. The motorway is shut heading westbound between junction 19 for Heywood and junction 18 for Simister Island.
