Keir Starmer was met by a wave of groans at Prime Minister's Questions, causing him to stumble and stutter, as he continued blaming the Tories for his decision to cut Winter Fuel Payments.
Sir Keir was questioned by Welsh MP Ann Davies about the impact it will have on her constituents.
She blasted: "My constituent Jeanette suffers from ME and chronic pain, the cold damp conditions of a Welsh winter are going to mean a lot more muscle soreness and fatigue for her."
"She's lost her winter fuel payments due to having a very small savings pot. With 86% of pensioners in poverty or just above that line to miss out in Wales, will the Prime Minister establish a social energy tariff to help people like Jeanette?"
Rising to his feet, the Prime Minister began by reiterating his usual excuse that the decision is necessary because of a £22 billion black hole left behind by the Conservatives.
However he was hit with a wave of groans and shouts at the excuse-making.
Visibly riled, the Prime Minister lost his cool and shouted: "They should be apologising not groaning!"
"We are committed to the triple lock, the point about pensions is really important, that means pensions will increase again by £460 next year which means pensioners under Labour will be better off."
In a separate testy moment, another Plaid Cymru MP accused the Prime Minister of just "making it up as he goes along" amid a row about the NHS in Wales.
Liz Saville Roberts pointed out that the Secretary of State for Wales has claimed that a new cross-border NHS plan will bring down Welsh surgery waiting lists.
However the Labour First Minister has denied that the plan has anything to do with bringing down waiting lists.
The Plaid Westminster leader said: "Are they making it up as they go along?"
