During tonight's episode of GB News, the broadcast was interrupted to deliver a breaking news interview from Reform UK Leader Nigel Farage, who tore intoSir Keir Starmer live on-air. Farage hit back after Starmer branded him unpatriotic for warning the USA about UK censorship laws and the Online Safety Act, and a GB News reporter asked him about this live in Washington, DC, this evening.
The reporter said: "Earlier in the Commons, the Prime Minister called you unpatriotic for being here [in America]. He said you are encouraging Donald Trump to impose tariffs on the UK unless they drop the Online Safety Act." Farage sharply responded: "This prime minister is so desperate now - he's so on the run that he resorted to outright lies. Outright lies...
"The idea that I have suggested that we should be punished for tariffs... I've never said anything of that kind whatsoever. What I am saying is the opposite. What I am saying to Americans is, 'Please have a chat with the British government.'"
The Reform politician added: "Say it's not going to work the way it is and for the benefit of both of us, let's rethink the legislation."
He then claimed he "gets abused by everybody" when he speaks in Parliament and added: "I get to answer once every two or three months. I don't think that should be a priority over talking here to American legislators and American companies who matter a lot to our country."
It comes after Farage testified in the US House Judiciary Committee to discuss freedom of speech earlier today.
Jamie Raskin, a Democrat congressman, branded Farage a "Putin-loving, free-speech imposter and Trump sycophant".
"You might think twice before you let Mr Farage make Britain Great again," Raskin shared.
Following his remarks, Farage called Raskin "charming" before warning that the Online Safety Act would "threaten free speech across the West."
