The Tamil film Meiyazhagan, starring Karthi and Aravind Swamy, is set to premiere on an Over-The-Top (OTT) platform. Released in theaters on September 27, the movie has garnered positive reviews during its theatrical run, exciting fans about its upcoming online availability.

Directed by Prem Kumar, Meiyazhagan is a feel-good drama that emphasizes the importance of human relationships against a rural backdrop. Despite the favorable feedback, the film struggled to maintain its theatrical presence due to a busy schedule in Tamil cinema.

The film will be accessible on Netflix starting October 25 and will be available in several regional languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The OTT version of Meiyazhagan will have a runtime of 2 hours and 38 minutes.

Plot Overview Set in the late 90s, the story follows 40-year-old Arulmozhi Varman, known as "Arul," who returns to his ancestral home divided among his relatives after a 22-year absence. Nostalgia strikes as he attends his cousin Bhuvana's wedding.

During his visit, Arul encounters a mysterious relative who engages him in warm conversation, yet remains unnamed. Their bond grows as they exchange family stories, celebrating their Chola heritage. After a memorable night, Arul departs without learning the relative's name but later discovers he needs financial assistance to purchase his childhood home. His daughter, Jhanvi, helps him connect with the relative, unveiling his identity as Meiyazhagan and rekindling their family ties.
