Do VIPs have to follow traffic rules even in personal cars?

The most important of these is the green corridor, in which all traffic signals on the VIP's path are stopped during their travel so that their vehicle can move forward without any obstruction. Along with this, VIPs also get a police escort, which ensures their safety and travels with them. When the VIP's vehicle is on the road, normal traffic is stopped and the VIP's vehicle is allowed to go first.

Is traffic protocol applicable for personal vehicles as well?

This question comes to the mind of many people whether VIPs avail the traffic protocol while traveling in their personal vehicle as well. The answer is no. Traffic protocol is given only for official work. When a VIP travels somewhere for his personal work or in his personal vehicle, he does not get the benefit of traffic protocol. This protocol is applicable only for his position and security reasons, not for his personal life. Omar Abdullah's announcement of not taking traffic protocol indicates that he will follow the traffic rules like ordinary citizens, and this decision sends a positive message among the public.
