Who is Ibiza Final Boss, Channel 4 documentary star – real job to fortune from meme fame

Send Push

When summer started, Jack Kay was just another British tourist, partying in Ibiza. Now, thanks to an eight second video, the Ibiza Final Boss has a five figure fashion deal and a whole Channel 4 documentary dedicated to his rise to fame. But who is the "absolute legend" that has shot to stardom without even trying?

Jack is proof that going viral on TikTok can change lives. On August 3, the 26-year-old was dancing at a party when he caught the attention of clothing label Zero Six West Ibiza. He had black and gold sunglasses on to match his black vest and massive gold chain. His muscled arms were on display and his now iconic bowl haircut had been shaped to perfection. The clothing label posted an eight-second clip of Jack dancing, and asked: “Does anyone know this absolute legend coz we’ve got 2 free guestlist with his name on it!”

On TikTok alone, the video has had almost 30million views and Jack became a meme, dubbed the Ibiza Final Boss. He captured the attention of many and soon signed with a talent agency and embarking on a club appearance tour, which one PR expert estimated could earn him £1k-5k per night. With at least eight appearances under his belt, that is an estimated earning of anywhere between £8k and £40k from club appearances alone.

Turns out an eight second clip can help you earn a lot more on top of that, as Jack is reported to have signed a five-figure deal with Boohoo Man. It can also catapult you even further into the limelight it seems, since the partygoer is rumoured to be in talks with the Big Brother casting team as well.

And the career moves don't stop there. "If this can happen to me, it can happen to anyone," Jack wrote on Instagram. "One day, you're just living life... next day you've gone viral... next thing you know, you're signing a record deal." The caption appeared next to a selfie of Jack in front of a Sony Music sign, hinting Jack is also set to launch a music career.

His fame has helped him enjoy the finer things in life as he has documented travel on a private jet with friends, enjoying a dip in a hot tub and driving a lavish Range Rover car on his socials.

Job before becoming a meme

Before being the Ibiza Final Boss and a potential Big Brotherhousemate, Jack worked in construction in Newcastle. Not a lot else is known about the viral TikTok star, as he appears to have deleted any posts on his social media that documented his life before becoming a meme.

Jack is said to be dating model Alisha Cook. Trouble seemed to be brewing in paradise shortly before Jack became famous, as Alisha broke up with him because of his love of partying.

However, things soon got back on track, as the Alisha posted a loved-up picture on Instagram and a now private video on TikTok where she said: "POV: ya boyfriend's now known as Ibiza Final Boss."

Despite their seemingly stronger relationship, a friend of Jack's warned he was skating on "thin ice". Jack himself hasn't shared anything about the relationship online, but he did post a cryptic message that hinted at a single lifestyle. On Instagram he wrote: "The final boss can't be slayed… your misses on the other hand? Her levels been completed."

And why is he called the 'Final Boss'. That name wasn't initially used by Jack or Zero Six West Ibiza. It was coined by TikTok users and based on gaming slang. In videogames like Super Mario, a 'final boss' is the ultimate villain you have to face at the end of the game, like Bowser or Sonic's Doctor Eggman. They have the most power and are the toughest to defeat.

Jack was awarded the title of 'Final Boss' because TikTok users felt he embodied that energy. He is the epitome of the Ibiza-headed Brit.
