Netflix fans have hailed their 'new obsession' from a Rick and Morty creator.

Haunted Hotel was released just last week and it is already causing a stir among subscribers. All 10 episodes were made available at once but it has not taken long at all for users to binge watch the entire first season.

The show is the latest animated comedy series to launch on Netflix and it is proving to be one of the most popular. Despite difficult competition it has managed to earn the eighth spot on the top ten most watched series in the UK.

According to the synopsis released by the streaming giant, the series will follow a single mother who struggles to run a haunted hotel. All she has to help her is estranged brother, who is now one of the ghosts haunting the establishment and thinks the other ghosts have some pretty good ideas.

There's also a demon trapped inside the body of a boy from the 1700s along with various types of spirits, ghosts and devil like creatures causing havoc. One is even voiced by guest star Seth Rogen.

The show is created by Matt Roller, known mostly for his work on hit animated sci-fi comedy Rick and Morty. He is credited for writing the episode A Rickle In Time, as well as serving as story editor for the show.

Its cast includes Scrubs' Eliza Coupe, SNL alum Will Forte, Superman actor Skyler Gisondo and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia star Jimmi Simpson. Currently sitting at 83% on website Rotten Tomatoes, several fans have shared their hopes for more episodes and hope Netflix don't cancel the show.

One posted their reaction on social media, simply stating: "I think Haunted Hotel might be my new obsession."

Others stated just how quickly they made their way through the entire series. A subreddit has been set up by fans with one saying: "Just finished the entire season in less than a day, was sooo good..I NEED MORE."

Sharing a similar sentiment, another replied: "I watched it all in one sitting, The show Amazing. I really don't want this show to get cancelled after 2 seasons."

Someone else shared their verdict, saying: "It just feels perfect blend of mild horror, comedy, realistic and fresh depictions and kind of deep characters and plot. It just feels perfect to me, waiting for next season already."

One character stood out among fans as well with one person commenting: "Personally my favourite character is Abbadon, I love his demon / childish side, I love his backstory, voice actor and even his character design. The story telling is definitely a 10/10. This definitely deserves a season 2 and even more."

Meanwhile one person claimed: "It’s really humorous and more or less light hearted (more, actually). The characters have their own quirks that they carry in every episode but it never feels overdone. I just really hope they don’t cancel this show as there’s huge scope for character development with more seasons. Overall it was very entertaining."
