John Sugden may trigger his own downfall on very soon.
Friday's episode of the soap saw him take a step further for the recognition he craved as the village hero. Of course fans know he has set up situations to save lives, leaving people in danger to then either be able to save them or bring them back from the brink of death.
Other situations not caused by him have seen him spring into action to be the saviour, and now he wants everyone to recognise his heroic actions. He revealed this week all about a hero award he had been nominated for with him claiming not to know who nominated him.
Pretending to be modest he played down the nomination and a possible win, as his loved ones praised his recent actions in helping those including Chas Dingle and Jacob Gallagher. What they don't know is that he was to blame for both medical emergencies, and he's also accidentally killed Nate Robinson.

They also don't know how far he's gone to maintain control from framing Ella Forster for a campaign against Chas and Liam Cavanagh, to him also lying about the fate of a man named Aidan Moore. On Friday fans found out who nominated John for the award, and it could seal his comeuppance.
It was John himself who called up and put himself forward for the award, while pretending to be someone else on a separate phone. He was shown calling up the organisers on Friday to tell them how John had saved another life since he had been nominated, asking about his chances of winning.
But what if the award or even the nomination exposes him? Might those involved, or even those in the village who know John, start to question how he has helped so many people? Why is it that he's always there when someone needs saving?
Might it somehow get revealed that it was John who nominated himself? Perhaps John has taken this all a step too far out of desperation of being noticed.

It could lead to some unwanted attention and the possible truth about his dark actions coming to light. If so, he will trigger his own downfall and find himself exposed.
It comes as fans wondered if someone was in danger after they expose John's lie about Aidan next week. We found out this week the truth around Aidan's fate, with hints at what led to him being hospitalised. After months of John claiming he was dead, we saw he was actually alive and in a coma.
But amid speculation he may wake up, new spoilers have revealed someone learns the truth about Aidan's fate next week. His sister Victoria Sugden meets with an old army mate of John's called Connor, who tells her all about Aidan. When she finds out Aidan is alive and in a coma she goes to visit him before rushing out.
Back at home she wastes no time in confronting her brother about Aidan and the truth about his fate. She demands answers and John is left agitated as he's faced with having to reveal why he lied about Aidan being dead. But could Victoria be in serious danger, and might John end up having to silence her to stop others finding out the truth?
