Emmerdale Jai Sharma's grim fate teased after John Sugden twist

Send Push

Jai Sharma could face big trouble in Emmerdale, as he involved himself in the John Sugden drama.

The character made a discovery about the killer during Thursday's episode, leading to him confronting his boss Caleb Miligan at the depot. Fans know Caleb helped killer John flee the country, with the truth revealed to certain characters on the ITV soap.

Caleb had initially planned to capture him with the help of his brother Cain Dingle, who wanted to avenge the murder of his son Nate Robinson. But when John made it clear that if he died or was sent down he'd exposed the truth about Anthony Fox's murder, Caleb took action to save his family.

Caleb and other residents covered up the fact that his wife Ruby Miligan killed her abusive father Anthony, with John then burying the body. With John threatening to tell the police everything Caleb agreed to help him escape, on the condition that all evidence would be deleted.

On Thursday, it was time for Caleb to face the music as Ruby and others learned he'd helped get John out of the country. While some of them backed his choice knowing it prevented them from going down for the crime, others, including Cain, were furious.

But towards the end of the episode an unexpected character found themselves dragged into the drama. Jai had been snooping at the depot and came across some rather unfortunate evidence that Caleb would have liked to have not been seen.

Jai wasted no time in grilling Caleb about it, as he showed him he'd spotted him helping John on the CCTV. The footage showed Caleb scanning the area, before getting John to hide out in the back of one of the work vans.

Caleb had turned off the CCTV but somehow, this camera was rolling and captured everything. Jai saw the footage and managed to get hold of it, asking Caleb what was going on.

He said: "I can't think of any good reason why you would help smuggle a known murderer out of the country. Unless you'd done something very bad yourself.

"What do you think?" Jai then suggested he was a "winner" before Caleb asked him what it was he wanted. Jai taunted him, telling him he needed time to decide before leaving the room.

As sinister music played, Caleb stared angrily at Jai who smirked at his boss. But will Jai regret messing with Caleb, and getting involved in his drama with killer John? Anyone that's got in John's business before has paid the price, and Caleb and co aren't exactly the type of people to let someone get away with trying to expose them.
