Irish singer CMAT has announced that she's cancelling her October tour dates after requiring surgery for a dental emergency. The 29-year-old is currently in the middle of her Euro-Country Tour and was due to perform at London's O2 Academy Brixton tomorrow night - however, she's been forced to postpone the dates.

Taking to Instagram, the musician - whose real name is Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson - said that she was 'devastated' to cancel dates in order to remove an infected wisdom tooth. "I woke up today with a throbbing pain in my jaw and booked an emergency visit with my dentist," she wrote.

"He has booked me in for surgery to remove both lower wisdom teeth next week and given me antibiotics to help with the infection. I am told the recovery period for my surgery is two weeks to allow me to heal, with a following short period to allow me get back to full health."

The BRIT Award nominee continued: "We are working to reschedule dates and will provide information on this as soon as possible. Your ticket will be valid for the rescheduled dates - if you’re not able to make the new date please contact your point of purchase for a refund."

CMAT went onto apologise for fans who made travel plans, adding: "If there was anything I could do I would do it, but I currently can't even open my mouth wide enough to laugh let alone sing. I also can’t even chew any food for the foreseeable so if anybody can send ice cream and or soup recommendations they would be hugely appreciated !!!"

She ended the post by saying that she's in "so much pain" with her mouth and has spent her time watching The Osbournes and reaming about "making it up to you all in the very near future".

CMAT took to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury over the summer, joining the likes of Lewis Capaldi - who played a secret set at this year's festival. She is set to perform at next year's Coachellaalongside headliners Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter and Karol G.

It will mark the festival's 25th anniversary, taking place across two weekends in April at Indio's Empire Polo Club in the California desert. Other standout acts include the likes of punk legend Iggy Pop, The Strokes, Teddy Swims, The XX, and Addison Rae.
