If you are also a ration card holder and a beneficiary of free ration, then you should know about the changes regarding ration which are going to happen in the next two months, due to this the free ration given by the government can become a problem for you. Therefore, if you are also a ration card holder, then you have to follow the steps mentioned here so that you will not only avoid facing the upcoming difficulty but you will also continue to get your ration.
These rules have changed.
Let us tell you that the E-KYC of ration card holders was done by the government, this meant that only those who have KYC can avail the benefit of free ration, due to which the scams happening in ration distribution were curbed to a great extent. Now the government has extended the last date for E-KYC to 31 December, that is, you will have to get E-KYC done by 31 December at any cost, if you do not do so then you may have to be deprived of a free ration. Let us tell you that E-KYC is not done without an Aadhaar card, so keep your Aadhaar card updated, and do not forget to link your mobile number with it.
Get e-KYC done this way.
You will have to get biometrics done for e-KYC, with the help of which the KYC process of your ration will be completed. Through KYC, the government is identifying those ration card holders who are eligible for free ration. If you also want to get e-KYC done, then you can get it done from home or you can get it done from your nearest ration center. If you want to adopt the online process, then go to the official website of the state government choose the option of E-KYC, and do biometric verification there through your Aadhaar number.
Why is it necessary to get e-KYC done
It is worth noting that for the last several years, free distribution of ration was going on, and many people were taking advantage of ration who were not even eligible for it, the government chose the option of e-KYC to weed out these people and recover the money from them. This means that now only those people will be able to get ration whose KYC has been done, and at the ration shop you will also have to prove their identity by completing the biometric process with their thumb, only then you will get ration.
