A major incident unfolded in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh on Monday morning when a team of Noida Police came under violent attack during a raid to arrest a history-sheeter. The operation, carried out in the Masuri area, turned tragic when a mob gathered and launched an assault on the police officers, resulting in the death of one constable and injuries to several others.

Mob Turns Violent, Opens Fire on Police

According to initial reports, the police team from Noida Phase-2 Police Station had been dispatched to apprehend a wanted criminal named Qadir. As the officers reached the locality and began their operation, local residents formed a mob and began pelting stones at the police team. The situation escalated rapidly when gunshots were fired from the crowd.

Constable Saurabh, who was leading part of the operation, sustained a gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment but sadly succumbed to his injuries during the operation. The incident has sent shockwaves through the police department.

Several Cops Injured, FIR Registered

In addition to Constable Saurabh’s death, 2 to 3 other policemen were also injured during the violent clash. Fortunately, their injuries are not life-threatening, and they are currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

Ghaziabad police officials have confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged, and an investigation is underway. They have taken the matter very seriously and have already begun identifying those involved in the attack.
