Blinking is very important to maintain moisture in the eyes. Normally, we blink 15-20 times in a minute, but this decreases while watching reels, which can cause many problems in the eyes.

Blinking Less While Watching Reels: Nowadays, the craze of watching reels on social media is at its peak. One does not even realize the time while scrolling on the mobile screen for hours. Children, young or old, everyone is spending most of their time watching the phone screen but it is very dangerous for your eyes. Due to continuous screen viewing, the ability to blink is getting halved, due to which the moisture of the eyes is decreasing and many serious problems are arising.
In the meeting of Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology and All India Ophthalmological Society held in Delhi, experts considered it serious and said that problems like dry eye syndrome, myopia, headache, sleep problems and squinting are increasing due to watching the screen for a long time.
The habit of blinking is decreasing due to watching reels
Dr. Harbansh Lal, the chairman of this organizing committee, said that reels have been designed in such a way that people's attention does not get distracted for a long time. That's why people keep looking at the screen for a long time without blinking. Blinking reduces by about 50% by watching reels. This can cause problems like dryness in the eyes, weak eyesight and headache.
Experts say that if this habit is not controlled, it can weaken the eyesight. Apart from this, children are becoming victims of Myopia at an early age due to watching mobile for hours.
How dangerous is myopia?
Dr. Harbansh Lal, referring to a research, said that by 2050, 50% of the world's population may be affected by myopia. He said that earlier the vision number used to become stable by the age of 21, but now with the increase in screen time, it keeps changing till the age of 30. Due to this, problems like digital eye strain, squinting and weak eyesight can increase among students and professionals.
why is it necessary to blink
Blinking is very important to maintain moisture in the eyes. Normally, we blink 15-20 times in a minute, but when we concentrate on the mobile or computer screen, it reduces to 5-7 times per minute. Due to continuous watching of reels and short videos, our attention becomes so focused on the screen that we forget to blink, due to which the eyes start drying.
