Navi Mumbai: The eagerly awaited Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is nearing its completion, with the official opening expected to take place in the coming months. With the deadline approaching, infrastructure enhancements are occurring rapidly at the mega airport location.

A trending video on Instagram has provided the initial glimpse of the forthcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), allowing the audience to preview what will soon become one of India's most sophisticated aviation centres.

An X posted by page (@IndianTechGuide), the video has gone viral, showcasing footage of the newly set-up interiors of the entrance and construction crews working tirelessly to prepare the terminal for service.

Viral Clip Offers Preview Of Airport Interior

The leaked footage of the highly awaited Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) has showcased what appears to be the entrance and flight ticket check-in areas. The expansive area features grand pillars with distinctive designs and artistic interiors, alongside AC ducts, lift shafts, and specific areas that are still undeveloped.

Earlier another video had gone viral in which glimpse of baggage conveyor belt was seen along with polished tiles showcasing beautiful interiors around the baggage claim area.

Navi Mumbai International Airport Inauguration Date

Before the formal announcements, various news sources indicate that the airport's significant opening is expected on September 17, 2025, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday. Previously, there were rumors of a launch on August 15, but technical issues with the terminal and taxiway construction, coupled with the monsoon season, caused postponements.

Situated in Ulwe, the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) will be conveniently reachable from Mumbai, North MMR, Panvel, and nearby locations. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently declared that the inaugural passenger flight from NMIA is set to depart by September 30.

Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), covering 1,160 hectares in Ulwe, aims to alleviate congestion at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) and serve as a modern aviation hub for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

The airport features a lotus-inspired design with three terminals, two parallel runways, and advanced passenger facilities. NMIA will handle 20 million passengers and 0.8 million tonnes of cargo annually in its initial phase. Developed by a joint venture of Adani Airport Holdings and CIDCO, over 13,000 workers are on-site for timely completion.
