Kolkata weather update

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that a low-pressure area extending from Madhya Pradesh to South Bengal, along with another weather system located 3 to 6 kilometers above sea level from Sikkim to North Odisha, is influencing the weather in West Bengal. As a result of these conditions, rainfall is expected in several districts of West Bengal, and this is likely to continue over the next few days.

The humidity level is anticipated to be around 73 percent, with minimum temperatures around 26 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures reaching approximately 33 degrees Celsius.

Weather forecast for the upcoming days

The weather department said that all districts of South Bengal are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall, which will be accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Due to the influence of a low-pressure system, pleasant weather is expected in Kolkata.

The weather system will influence other states

According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Bihar, Assam, and Meghalaya. Hailstorm-like conditions with gusty winds reaching 50 km/h are expected in Odisha and Jharkhand. Widespread scattered rainfall is predicted in Chhattisgarh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mainpuri, Mizoram, and Tripura. Thunderstorm-like conditions are expected to occur in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. Meanwhile, heatwave conditions are likely to prevail in parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
