PM Modi condemned the terror attack
Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to Delhi from Saudi Arabia after a two-day visit. He skipped the official dinner hosted by the Saudi government and arrived in Delhi shortly afterward. Upon his return, he held a brief meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, and other officials.

Among the deceased were two foreign nationals, a businessman from Karnataka, and several others.
According to reports, the Kashmir police stated that gunfire was heard in the upper meadows of the Pahalgam tourist resort in Jammu and Kashmir. The most recent significant terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir occurred on June 9, 2024, when unidentified assailants opened fire on a group of ferrying pilgrims, leading to the deaths of at least 10 individuals.
