Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A major road accident was reported in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district, leading to the death of a man, the police said on Sunday.
The accident took place early Sunday morning around 5 am in the Buxwaha police station area near Driver Dhaba, located between Gadhoyi and Bhadator.
Here, a high-speed container truck and an Eicher vehicle collided head-on.
The container driver was identified as Lakhan Singh (46), son of Baldev Singh Thakur and a resident of Sojna police station area in Lalitpur district (Uttar Pradesh), who died on the spot. His body was badly trapped inside the cabin after the crash.
Eyewitnesses rushed to the scene after hearing the loud collision. They immediately informed the police and began rescue efforts. When initial attempts to remove the body failed, a JCB machine was called in by local resident Dinesh Yadav.

The container truck was coming from the Damoh-Jabalpur road toward Buxwaha, while the Eicher vehicle was traveling from Chhatarpur on the Hirapur road.
The head-on collision near the dhaba was so severe that the container was completely crushed. After the crash, the Eicher driver and cleaner fled the scene.
Buxwaha police station Sub-Inspector Mahesh Pandey confirmed the death of the container driver at the scene. The body has been sent for post-mortem. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to nab the Eicher driver and cleaner.
