The brutal murder of Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister and well-known leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), has sent shockwaves through the Indian film industry. Siddique had cultivated friendships with numerous Bollywood celebrities, including Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Shilpa Shetty. The authorities are now investigating the involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has previously issued threats against Khan. Reports by the Indian Express suggest that the gang has claimed responsibility for Siddique’s killing.
This alarming incident is not isolated, as the Bishnoi gang has a history of targeting high-profile individuals in the entertainment sector. Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar has previously stated that the gang was involved in the assassination of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, claiming it was an act of revenge for the murder of their associate, Vikramjit Singh. The NIA has reportedly accessed a hit list provided by Lawrence Bishnoi during his interrogation, revealing that several notable figures are at risk.

Celebrities on the Bishnoi Gang's Hit List
- Salman Khan: The Bollywood superstar is the prime target of the Bishnoi gang. According to NIA documents, Khan is a target due to his alleged involvement in the 1998 black buck shooting case. Bishnoi himself threatened Khan during a court appearance in 2018, stating, “We will kill Salman Khan in Jodhpur. Everyone will know once we take action.” In April 2024, a firing incident occurred outside Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, where gunmen fired multiple shots before fleeing. Fortunately, no one was injured in this attack.
- Munawar Faruqui: The recent winner of Bigg Boss 17, Faruqui, is also on the Bishnoi gang's hit list. A report from Times Now indicated that two henchmen had followed him to an event in Delhi in September, intending to carry out an attack. However, their plan was foiled after intelligence agencies were alerted, leading to Faruqui being returned to Mumbai under tight security.
- Shaganpreet Singh: The manager of the slain Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, Singh is believed to be a target because the Bishnoi gang suspects he provided shelter to the killers of Vicky Middukhera, their close associate who was shot dead in Mohali in August 2021. The gang is seeking vengeance for this murder.
- Mandeep Dhariwal: Another individual on the hit list is Dhariwal, who was accused of assisting the killers of Middukhera. He was later shot dead in the Philippines, with the Goldy Brar gang claiming responsibility for his murder.
- Zeeshan Siddiqui: Baba Siddique’s son, Zeeshan, is also at risk, according to Mumbai Police. The police reported that those arrested in connection with Baba Siddique’s murder were contracted to kill Zeeshan as well. During interrogation, the accused claimed that both Zeeshan and Baba Siddique were targets, ordering them to shoot anyone they encountered. Zeeshan had reportedly received threats days before his father's murder.
- Kaushal Chaudhary: Currently in custody at a Gurugram jail, Chaudhary is another target on the Bishnoi gang's list. He is accused of supplying weapons to the killers of Middukhera.
- Amit Dagar: Dagar, another individual aligned with the Bishnoi gang, is implicated in Middukhera's murder and is also included on the gang's hit list.
