Salman Khan found himself in the eye of the storm after deleting a tweet that followed the announcement of a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. The actor’s tweet quickly stirred up controversy, with many questioning his silence on the ongoing conflict in Kashmir and his lack of commentary on India’s military action, Operation Sindoor, against Pakistan.
Salman’s tweet was posted on a Saturday night shortly after the ceasefire agreement between the two countries was declared. However, just hours later, he deleted the post, likely in response to the backlash he received and Pakistan's ceasefire violations.

Operation Sindoor refers to India’s targeted military response launched after the Pahalgam terrorist attack that claimed the lives of 26 people. The operation aimed at dismantling terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan had stirred considerable public sentiment.
Despite the gravity of the situation, several netizens noted that Salman’s post did not address the operation. One user tweeted a straightforward question: “No tweets about Operation Sindoor. Why?” while another criticized the silence, claiming that a reaction to the military action was expected from someone of Salman’s stature.

Previously, Salman Khan also tweeted his condolences, expressing deep sorrow for the innocent victims of the Pahalgam terror attack: "Kashmir, heaven on planet earth, turning into hell. Innocent people being targeted, my heart goes out to their families. Ek bhi innocent ko marna puri kainath ko marne ke barabar hai (Killing one innocent person is similar to killing the entire universe)."
Following weeks of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced that both countries had agreed to halt all military operations—on land, sea, and air—starting 5 pm on May 10. The ceasefire update drew responses from several Bollywood celebrities. Kareena Kapoor shared a hopeful message on Instagram with “Rab rakha” and “Jai Hind,” while Karan Johar and Raveena Tandon echoed sentiments of peace with folded hands and heart emojis.

However, within hours, Pakistan had made multiple ceasefire violations.
As India and Pakistan maintain a cautious peace, this underscores the fine line celebrities tread while commenting on sensitive national security issues.
