Manhunt after bogus cops use cars to ambush driver on motorway before shattering his jaw

A manhunt has been launched after conmen pretending to be police forced a car on the to pull over before attacking him and leaving him with a shattered eye socket and jaw.

are now hunting the bogus cops following the attack on a man in his 30s who was driving south on the M40 near High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire when the incident happened last Sunday, October 20. First, a car deliberately rammed into him and then a short time later people in another vehicle turned on fake blue lights pretending to be policemen.

They then ordered the young driver to pull over where he was attacked and robbed of his phone, wallet and keys. A spokesman for has said they are appealing for information following the robbery which happened on a slip road near Beaconsfield.

"Last Sunday at approximately 9.15pm, the victim was driving along the M40 southbound between High Wycombe and Beaconsfield when another car collided with him causing minor damage," he said.

"Another vehicle displayed blue lights and instructed the victim to pull over. He pulled off at Junction 2 of the M40 and pulled into the lay-by on the A355 between the M40 roundabout and the Pyebush roundabout. A group of men then got out of the car, grabbed abd pulled the victim out of his car and assaulted him, causing grievous bodily harm. They also stole his phone, wallet and keys.

"The victim sustained a broken jaw and broken eye socket and hospital treatment was required. The men are believed to have arrived in a red Nissan and a dark coloured Volvo."

Investigating officer, Police constable Mollie Dugmore, based at Aylesbury police station, said: "Impersonating a police officer is an offence that we will not tolerate and we are appealing for information following this incident. We are asking anyone with information to please call 101.

"Additionally we ask anyone with mobile phone, CCTV or dash-cam footage from the M40 or the surrounding areas at around 9.10pm to get in touch with the force in case it has captured something which may assist this investigation.
