Liam Payne was holidaying in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy when he fell from the third floor of the Casa Sur hotel. Police, who had been summoned over reports of a man acting aggressively in the hotel in the afternoon of October 16, arrived on the scene with firefighters and ambulances, all of which were seen outside the venue.
in an internal patio of the hotel and a partial autopsy revealed that in his system at the time of his death, including "pink cocaine" - a mix of several substances such as methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA and others - cocaine, benzodiazepine and crack.
In a press release, The Argentina National Prosecutor’s Office shared more details of the autopsy, stating Liam had died of "polytrauma and internal and external bleeding", he sustained after falling from the balcony. Forensic experts found 25 injuries "compatible with those produced by a fall from height."
Shortly after his passing, Liam's family broke their silence in a gut-wrenching statement: "We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we'll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul."
