A couple looking for a tenant in their home shared their "strict" rules for living there - and it "sounds like a horror movie" according to people online.
Their litany of rules for what has to be done in the flat, costing a potential renter £1,200 plus bills per month, horrified X users. Describing it as a "" in 's Zone 1, the couple provided details of the rooming arrangement and a few red flags for potential renters, who were told they would need to find alternate accommodation for three or four nights a month.
The couple are looking for a "mature, clean and friendly person working full time, normal working hours", and offered a slight reduction on the room which they said would usually rent for £1,300 per month. The advert suggested those interested in renting the room would need "a partner or family nearby that they can spend the night with occasionally, and offer us the apartment for 3-4 separate nights a month to relax on our own". The pair added that their renting friend would "get the same back when we are away!"

X users have blasted the living situation. One wrote: "This needs to be made into a horror film where the person who moves in slowly takes over their lives; it finishes on them each trying to find a room in someone else’s flat as they have no partner, job or home. The only rentals they can find are £1300 plus bills."
Another asked: "If I have a partner or family nearby to crash with…why am I paying you £1200 instead of them?" Others assumed the couple were wanting to continue living in their Zone 1 home but could not afford the staggering cost of rent for their property.
One guessed: "So comprehension tells me you’ve been together for a year and a half and struggling to pay rent in your zone 1 property so you need support with the cost of living, while simultaneously not wanting a stranger in your personal space."
Another pointed out that a resident working nights would be much more suitable. "Ironically if they found someone who worked nights they could have multiple nights free to relax on their own," they wrote. Another fumed: "Reading this I was thinking, oh their ideal room mate is someone who just stays on their room but then they lob in the ‘we want to be friends’ comment. When people give you impossible criteria to fill they are not asking in good faith."
