Soap fans have suspected Kit Green could be to blame for but a new connection has shone a light on his true motives this Friday.
The mysterious character portrayed by former actor is seemingly trying to find answers to explain Joel Deering's demise but viewers are convinced he may be up to no good. To make matters worse, he's also suspected to have murdered the villain.
During this Friday's (November 1) trip to Weatherfield, however, Kit was seen getting cosy with Daisy Midgeley () as he shared a conversation with her and her stepmother Jenny Connor () in the Rovers.
Kit scored a few points with Daisy, a growing love interest, as he revealed his favourite movie to be Nancy Meyers' The Holiday, which Daisy particularly enjoys. Unbeknownst to her, Kit had used information her former boyfriend Ryan Connor had given him during a friendly chat.

Ryan later confronted Kit as he realised the latter was trying to get into Daisy's good books and the police officer's dismissive behaviour has highlighted the possibility he could be going after Daisy to get his hands on the Rovers Return Inn. Kit has a history of making life difficult for Beth Tinker, which ultimately earlier on this year - could he do the same for Daisy and Jenny?
As regular viewers of the Manchester-based drama will remember, Daisy persuaded Jenny last year to use the money had stolen from Carla Connor and the Underworld factory to buy the Rovers, which was then on the brink of being destroyed.
While she was initially opposed to Daisy's plan, Jenny eventually backtracked after a brutal showdown with Carla Connor () but as they successfully avoided repercussions, could Kit be the one to bring them to justice for stealing Carla's money? Could he want the Rovers for himself?
As mentioned, Coronation Street viewers have had a hard time trusting Kit Green, despite him fighting for the right side of the law. But after his exchange with Daisy and Jenny this Friday, Kit was seen deleting evidence that could link him to Joel's murder in a shocking move.
Viewers are adamant that Kit could be involved in Joel's death, particularly as he was revealed to possess a red car, the same that had been spotted near Joel's home on the night he was killed, on September 27.
Ronnie Bailey () was the first Corrie resident to be suspected, and he and his brother Ed Bailey() were questioned. With Joel engaged to Ronnie's niece Dee-Dee Bailey, police wondered if Ronnie killed him over his betrayal towards Dee-Dee.
To make matters worse for Ronnie, he had been seen with a crowbar in his possession, the very item deemed to be the murder weapon. It seemed as though the brothers did go to Joel's flat the night he died, but he wasn't there, and they insisted they left the duty solicitor's home soon after. Flashback scenes have tried to shine a light on the real events that led up to Joel's death but will Kit be involved and unmasked as the killer? Could he be a red herring?
