BBC could postpone boyband documentary premiere after Liam Payne's death

Two major TV shows are said to be "hanging in the balance" after tragically died in Argentina.

The 31-year-old former star passed away after falling from the balcony of his third-floor room at CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, , on Wednesday. His between 10 and 15 days, according to sources, before it is repatriated to the UK.

Before his tragic death, Liam was reportedly involved in a series of television projects including an X-Factor-style show. A documentary of boybands was also being produced, however, the future of these shows is now said to be uncertain following Liam's passing.

The singer's latest projects included appearing as a judge on the series Building The Band, which set out to find a new boyband and was similar to the X factor. Liam had been seen in Manchester in August where auditions were being filmed. According to , the series was expected to drop on Netflix next year, but it now seems unlikely to air after Liam's death. Netflix hasn't released a statement on this yet.

Another project that could be affected by Liam's death is a major documentary series, Boybands Forever, co-produced by Louis Theroux. The series looks at the pros and cons of being in boybands such as One Direction, and features Simon Cowell talking about his memories of creating One Direction.

The programme is expected to air next month, but the may decide to push it back after Liam's death. Louis said of the series: "It involves some of the icons of modern British pop - and we see them through their highs and lows." He added: "It's how they came together, the experience of sudden fame, the opportunity and temptations that came their way, conflicts within the groups, between the groups, and between the boys and their managers.

"It's a gripping fable about getting everything you dreamed of, and it not being what you imagined, centred on a generation of young men, and their managers, who were wildly successful and also immensely vulnerable, having the times of their lives and also in some cases cracking up." The Sun reported that Liam and his team were also in talks to make a behind-the-scenes documentary about his life after 1D but the project never materialised.

It comes after sources said that , until the results of are known. Once the investigation ends, the singer's remains will be handed over to his relatives and repatriated to England, according to local media reports.

This would mean that the funeral could then take place at the beginning of next month, once his body returns to the UK. Argentinian newspaper Clarín reported the claims and quoted sources from the British Embassy who said: "We are supporting Liam Payne's family and are in contact with local authorities."
